Andrei Codrescu is the author of over 20 books including novels, poetry, essays and memoirs, covering a range of
topics from the loss of civil liberties in the United States to the revolution in his home country, Romania. Besides being the MacCurdy Distinguished Professor of English at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, he is also a columnist for National Public Radio's newsmagazine All Things Considered and the editor of the Exquisite Corpse: A Journal of Letters and Life, an online literary journal. His awards include a Peabody Award for his movie "Road Scholar," the National Endowment for the Arts Fellowships for poetry, editing and radio, and the Literature Prize of the Romanian Cultural Foundation, Bucharest.
Codrescu was born in Sibiu, Romania. In 1966 he and his mother emigrated to the United States. He was granted U.S. citizenship in 1981 and currently lives in Baton Rogue and New Orleans, Louisiana.
